SKS Microfinance leads gainers in 'A' group


MOIL, Jubilant FoodWorks, Jet Airways (India) and Torrent Power are among the other gainers.

Shares of microfinance firm SKS Microfinance spurted 10% to Rs 523.60 on bargain hunting after the stock fell 19% in the preceding two trading sessions to settle at Rs 476 on Thursday, 14 July 2011, from a recent high of Rs 587.60 on 12 July 2011. The stock topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group.

MOIL surged 3.97% to Rs 364.90. The stock was second biggest gainer in 'A' group.



Jubilant FoodWorks moved up 3.83% to Rs 897.50. The stock was third biggest gainer in 'A' group.

Shares of private sector airline Jet Airways (India) advanced 3.42% to Rs 506.15 as a fall in crude oil prices eased concerns about the impact of high jet fuel prices on operating costs. The stock was fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group.

Aviation turbine fuel, or jet fuel constitutes more than 50% of operating cost for airliners. Prices of jet fuel are directly linked to crude oil prices. Crude oil futures prices fell 2.4% in New York on Thursday, 14 July 2011, after Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said the central bank was not ready to take immediate action to further bolster the economy

Torrent Power gained 3.41% to Rs 251.40. The stock was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group. The company will declare its Q1 June 2011 results on 29 July 2011.
